CSR On line Awards: Terna 4°

CSR Terna

For the second year running, the Sole 24 Ore has published the results of research carried out by the financial communication company Lundquist on how Italian companies use institutional websites to communicate their policies, initiatives and processes online in the Corporate Social Responsibility sphere.

Message is part of the growth process in online communication for listed companies for which it analyses, designs and creates the online sections on CSR and annual sustainability reports in html. Terna is an example of this.

In the release dated 26/5/09, the company declares with satisfaction: “The final ranking, in which the Energy sector has received most awards, sees Terna in the Top Ten in fourth position. In other words, it is one of the best companies in Italy for online CSR communication. Terna, second best improver 2009 with 25 more points than last year, stands out for its “Visual Communication and Language,” thus underlining the importance to the company of the way in which CSR information is presented on its website.”

For Terna, communicating CSR online has meant using a web channel to explain in detail what they have created and what their objectives are with regard to the following four areas of responsibility: economic, environmental, social and, in Terna’s case, the responsibility of providing electrical power.

The website dedicated to sustainable annual reports, designed and set up by Message, offers users several surfing possibilities: for GRI performance markers, for in-depth information, for highlights, and for key words. A special tool enables sight-impaired users to listen to the texts.
